Job Description

• At least 3+ years of experience designing and developing world-class websites
• Portfolio demonstrating strong visual design sensibility and aesthetic judgment
• Experience creating original website designs from concept to completion
• Track record of designing visually compelling, brand-aligned websites
• Strong grasp in development to efficiently create responsive and user-friendly websites
• Able to complete tasks by deadlines
• Experience with any CMS to complete routine maintenance tasks
• Able to design websites directly in HTML/CSS without relying on templates

Skills

Design Skills

• Proficient in Figma, Adobe XD, Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, or similar design tools
• Eye for modern design trends and UI/UX best practices
• Ability to create original graphics, icons, and visual assets

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
• Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks (React, Svelte, Vue) is a plus
• Quick learner and problem solver
• Good communication skills

Responsibilities

• Design and develop visually striking websites from scratch, without relying on templates or wireframes
• Translate client requirements into creative, original design concepts
• Craft thoughtful content layouts that enhance readability and visual appeal
• Create original images, graphics, and update photos as per website requirements
• Update existing websites as per client requirements in our CMS
• Break down problems and troubleshoot solutions

Beehively (www.beehively.com) is an education-focused technology firm based in Davis, CA, USA. Since 2007, we've provided private elementary schools throughout Northern California with a rich suite of web services and technology guidance, including public websites, content management systems, and, most recently, implementing One-to-One programs. We also consult with private high schools and elementary schools, nonprofits, and county school offices on technology leadership and website redesign.

This is a primarily remote position, with occasional visits to our branch office in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, as needed.
